I got some money for Christmas and thought I should invest it wisely.

So I pre-ordered Final Fantasy XIII-2 (the collector's edition) and the guide to go with it (yes, you guessed it, collector's edition).
I also bought Canis Canem Edit (for the PS2), Final Fantasy I (PSP), Dragon Age Origins + add on (PS3), Ico & Shadow of the Colussus (PS3), Uncharted (the first part, PS3) and Bayonetta (PS3). They are supposed to be delivered on Wednesday – let's just hope it works. I have to be home, 'cause two of those games are 18+. *sigh*
Also The World Ends With You. Which won't be delivered on Wednesday.

Yeah.
Bills? What are those?

TES V: Skyrim
I mean, who hasn't?
It's great, really. The graphics are awesome (Yeah, I know, the PC version is better and us console players ruined the game for everybody else, yadda yadda yadda), there's just so much you can do and so much you just don't have to do – the main quest, for example. Who cares about that?
I just hope that as soon as I have internet at home there will be a patch available that fixes some of the bugs. For example the problem that some quest items can never be removed from the inventory, taking up valuable space, or the shadows dissolving into ugly giant pixels or the lighting in general. Amongst others, I play a Redguard character with very dark skin and even looking directly into the sun he appears black (as in paint-black, not skin-black) except for his eyes which don't even look like part of his face. o_o
Despite that I look forward to playing again.

Final Fantasy XII Revenant Wings
[personal profile] les_lenne gave this to me for Christmas. <3
So far I've finished the first three chapters and am now doing a few side missions for grinding purposes.
Because I'm too stupid for any real strategy apart from the basics.

I like the game so far: the graphics are good, as soon as I heard the music it felt like the awesome FF XII all over again and I like a bit of RTS, occasionally.
Revenant Wings does have its problems, though. The gameplay is a bit repetitive and the story not all that exciting. The characters remain flat and uninteresting. Except for Llyud, maybe. I like Llyud.
Also, there's Balthier and if there's Balthier, what can go wrong?

Kingdom Hearts: Chain of Memories
Had to download an emulator for that because I own a Nintendo DSi and a Gameboy Color and nothing inbetween. Playing like that always feels a bit... wrong, like it wasn't a real game. I don't know.
Anyway, it's a weird game.
I still don't know whether I like the card-based battle system or not.

Rayman Origins
Compared to the awesome Hoodlum Havoc this game is horrible but taken for what it is it's a fun oldschool 2D platformer with awesome graphics and fun ideas. It's also absolutely addictive.
I don't know how long this will hold up, though. There's not much to keep you interested over a longer period of time: There's no plot and only two basic level types: Flying and, well, not flying. I won't count swimming, because everybody hates underwater levels. Though they are handled extraordinarily well.
The koop-gameplay might be worth a shot but for that I'd have to actually invite somebody over to play.
Ahahahaha.

Final Fantasy Tactics A2
Does this thing even have a plot?
I don't think so.
It's fun nevertheless. There are more missions than I ever want to do (300 in total, I think?) and the customisation options are so extensive that it's always extremely difficult to choose which job to do next.

I do hate the trend to publish complex games like that without any information in the manual. Maybe I want to plan beforehand? So I need to know which jobs there are for my characters to get and what exactly makes a fighter different from a soldier or a warrior or a paladin.
Skyrim suffered from the same problem.

BAYONETTA IS AWESOME!! It's one of the best games I've played this gen, for sure. Also, you should totally get Valkyria Chronicles for PS3! It was amazing. I think there's a demo on the PSN for it, anyway. But hoo boy, I was obsessed with Valkyria and Bayonetta when I got my PS3.

ALSO SUPER EXCITED FOR XIII-2. I don't think they're put the guide up for pre-order which makes me sad.

Bayonetta's a bit short. I'd advise you to start on normal/high difficulty or else it'll be over in about 7-10 hours! D= Still a really fun game. Tell me what you think about ICO/SOTC once you played 'em. And I also wanna know if Uncharted's any good.
